This is the second stage of our development project
It will be a brand new building on the place of the old barn.
We will be adding photographs of the work as it progresses.
The pictures above show the old barn at the time when the property was bought. Initially we wanted to do a barn convertion but after the architect visited the site, his advice was to knock down the barn and build again as the regulations state that a residential building must be 3 metres away from the border with the neighbouring plot. The pictures below show the demolition process.
The project for the new build has been accomplished by our architect. The building is designed as two semi-detached apartments on two floors. Each apartment has got two bedrooms and a big bathroom on the second floor; an open plan kitchen-diner, a living room and a WC on the first floor. The total living area of each apartment is 106.94 sqm and the total area of the whole building is 213.85 sqm.

The project is going to be submitted in the local Town Hall for approval and granting building permission within the next couple of days. The process for passing takes around 4 months so we are planning to start building works on 1st September, 2007.
The planning permission has now been granted and we started work on the footings. Before winter comes, we will only be able to finish the footings and then in early spring more work will be done.
The footings have now been completed and work will be carried on again at the end of March,2008.
Due to better weather work has now started again on the building. The pictures below are an update.
